Army Veteran Hernia-free with Robotic Surgery
Shankar Singh was in the army in 1980 when he felt sharp pain in the left side of his abdomen. He was diagnosed with hernia and underwent an open surgery to correct the same. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of it. Over the course of next 30 years, his hernia resurfaced two more times resulting in two more surgeries. In 2018, Mr. Singh was faced with the same problem for the fourth time and was recommended to see Laparoscopic & Robotic surgeon, Dr. Shalin Dubey, by his friends. After hearing about his ordeal, Dr. Dubey advised Mr. Singh to consider robotic surgery. This meant that he would experience much less pain and discomfort, require a much shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery, since it is minimally invasive. Within a few days he was operated upon and 12 days later was back to his normal life. He thanked Dr. Shalin Dubey for helping him out with a decades old problem and giving him a chance to be rid of his hernia with a comfortable surgical experience.
